PRESBYOPIA

WHAT IS PRESBYOPIA

Presbyopia or better known as “Rabun Tua” in Malay, “老花” in Mandarin, is the gradual loss of eyes’ ability to focus on nearby objects due to the loss of flexibility of the lens. Presbyopia is a natural ageing process and it usually begins at 40 years old.

OUT OF FOCUS

Did you realise your near vision is out of focus? For example, you have to hold reading materials further away to be able to focus on them. If yes, chances are you need a pair of reading glasses. However, if you struggle to see far, and at the same time you rely on a pair of glasses for distance vision, then you will need a pair of multifocal glasses to correct your near and far visions altogether.

OUR SOLUTION

The question is, not all multifocal lenses are created equal. Some have narrower vision fields with more distortion, some have wider vision fields for better comfortability. What you should aim for is something that allows you to have a more natural posture when switching your gaze from near to far vision and vice versa.
